Analyzing Writing

Today we looked at the "Writing" and "Writing About Reading" sections of the Continuum. Both are broken down by grade level, and address genres and goals. Teachers can look at their students' writing, and, with the help of the Continuum, determine behaviors over which the child has control. This data can be used to plan mini-lessons and individual writing conferences.
